Our Douglas Fir Feather Edge Sawn Cladding is 200mm wide, with a taper of 12-25mm. The cladding is cut to order, ensuring you receive the best possible product tailored to your project.
We offer set lengths of 3m or 4m at no extra charge, with the flexibility to combine both lengths in a single order.
To order your cladding, please enter the linear metre amount in the quantity box.
We recommend a 50mm overlap when fitting the cladding so to calculate the linear metreage with the overlap, use the following calculation: Total Square Metres (height x width of the wall) then times that by 6.67.
Example: Wall height = 2m, Wall length = 10m, total = 20sqm
Linear metres required = 20 x 6.67 = 133.4
For optimal results, we recommend fitting the cladding within a few days of delivery and advise keeping it out of direct sunlight if you need to store it beforehand.
At Oak and Wood, we pride ourselves on delivering top-quality Douglas Fir products that bring durability and natural beauty to your exterior spaces. Experience reliable service and premium timber crafted to your exact needs.
Douglas Fir Feather Edge Sawn Cladding 200mm Wide
Feather Edge is one of the most recognisable forms of cladding that has been used for years as a traditional way to cover barns, houses and outbuildings.
Douglas Fir is a very durable softwood with excellent weathering properties. Freshly sawn it has a pinky/red colour but this can vary from browns to creams dependant on which part of the tree was used. If left untreated it will turn silvery grey as the product ages.
Our feather edge is supplied untreated and no treatment is required. However, if you wish to keep the colour we would recommend to use a high UV content oil such as Treatex UV oil or Osmo UV-protection oil. This will prolong the life of the colour but you will need sand down and re-apply over time.
